The woman and girls outside the Post Office look like they are wearing their Sunday best. But why is the PO advertising lamp oil and what is the poster of the British Army and what looks like the cavalry division all about?
St Mary’s looks a little forlorn in this bleak landscape but note how high Cradle Bridge sits above the river, how clear of weeds the water is and the mud-free footpath.
