Donald MacKenzie Funeral arrangements and Celebration of his life

Friday 31 January, St Andrews Church, The Street, Lammas, NR10 5JQ

An opportunity for locals – or anyone – to pay their last respects to Donald.

5 pm – 9 pm Coffin laid out in church, candlelit, for people to come to pay their last respects at any time in their own way. Appropriate background music provided by the family and recordings of hymns.

9 pm – 9.15 pm Spoken Vigil led by Andrew Additional parking if needed at Bure Valley Business Centre between the church and Don’s house. Please go up the slope and park in the large area beyond.

Saturday February 1 The Funeral Service – St. Andrews, The Street, Lammas, NR10 5JQ
9 am – 9.40 am The formal service for family and close friends led by Rev. David Hagan-Palmer. Additional parking at Bure Valley Business Centre as before. All are welcome to the Thanksgiving Service later.

Committal – Earlham Crematorium, 193 Earlham Rd, Norwich NR2 3RG
11 am – 11.15 am A short basic committal led by Rev. David – no hymns or eulogies. Everyone welcome. Parking along the drive. You might have to wait for cars to disperse from the previous cremation.

Thanksgiving Service – St. Andrews, Buxton, Norwich NR10 5JE
2.30 pm – 4 pm A longer service of praise and celebration of Donald’s life led by Rev. David. Lots of singing, readings, eulogies and joy! Everyone welcome. Parking at the Village Hall opposite or on the school playground behind the church.

4pm Refreshments in the Village Hall opposite the church.

Bring and share FINGER BUFFET. Please leave enough food for just one person in the hall before the service. On your return it will all be laid out with drinks provided. During the buffet . . . Donald’s original and arranged Folk Music, provided by Shinanikins, the band of which he was a member for almost 45 years.

Family flowers only.

Collection boxes will also be at the services on the Saturday for both charities.

Dress code – whatever is comfortable for you – black or colourful perfectly acceptable.
