Village gateways plan opens up

Plans to introduce gateways at the entrance to the village have been approved and £7000 has been awarded through the Parish Partnership Grant.

Parish councillor Jeremy Hickling said: “Back in October on behalf of theparish council, Chrissie and I submitted an application for two Parish Partnership Grants for village gateways. In April we were notified that we had been successful and between Burgh and Tuttington we have been awarded £7000.

“We have had meetings with the Highways Department and we have the Glasdon catalogue so the next stage is to confirm the style of gates the village would like to see.”

The parish council will be making arrangements to invite village residents for their views on the gates and any preferences in style.
