A new kerb has been successfully installed around the War Memorial. And after years of wear and weather damage, hopes are high that the memorial will also get a facelift.
Concern for the memorial grew after it was narrowly missed by a tractor and trailer late last year. Following a second application to the Parish Partnership, funding was agreed to pay for road kerbing around the memorial.
A bid to restore the memorial has been submitted to the War Memorials Trust. Three quotes have been obtained to carry out repair work and, after a request by the Trust for more information about the memorial, the village waits to hear if the bid has been successful.
