Tributes have been paid to Norfolk farming champion and community stalwart David Papworth, who died suddenly aged 73, at Tuttington Hall on Saturday, 18 August.
David was also a long-serving chairman of Tuttington and Burgh Parish Council and, aside from his county and country-wide service and commitment, he supported the local community with generosity and dedication.
He was there to clear back roads of snow, supply bales of hay for seating at a fete, loan a barbecue, cut a field, always without fuss or fanfare. A street party? A barn dance with fireworks? David would be at the core of organising and providing.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held in Norwich Cathedral on Tuesday, 25 September at 2pm.
He leaves a widow, Andra, and three children, Kit, Sarah and Jo, and six grandchildren.
Write your tribute to David Papworth in our Guest Book.
