NEWS FLASH

Reading Room annual subs are due

Please ignore if you’ve already paid. Annual subs of £8 per person are now due for members renewing or joining for the first time. Please drop money in to Chris Roberts or go down to the Reading Room at 7.30pm on Friday evening.
The Reading Room is a fantastic club to meet up for a chat over a drink on a Friday night or to get involved in the many and varied events . . . everything from burgers in the summer months, to pie or fish and chip suppers in the winter, film nights, special interest talks about the river, quiz nights and other social events throughout the year. Look out for Halloween, it’s just round the corner.

Calling all Burgh knitters

This year we are knitting for peace. Whether you have never knitted before or a knitting wizard get your needles out and get clicking. Almost a dozen people have already signed up.

Come along to our coffee morning on Thursday 27 Sept at 10.30am in the Reading Room for more information. If you have spare wool or knitting patterns to share bring them too.

This year we are knitting adult hats, scarves or blankets – see Knit for Peace website for examples of what is needed, ready to send off for Christmas. Contact:  Mary Forest-Hill
